Turnaround Consulting

At Beacon Consulting Associates, we work with troubled businesses to return them to financial health.

In today’s rapidly changing business environment, many businesses find themselves in financial difficulty. Market shifts, failure to keep pace with product or service technology, or over-expansion can all result in cash shortfalls, inability to meet financial obligations and ultimately a financial crisis. Our professionals have the analytical skills and the operations experience necessary to deal with that crisis and to guide your business back to financial health.

Our Turnaround Consulting engagements typically begin with calls to key creditors to put them at ease and buy time. With the creditor pressure relieved, we begin a thorough analysis of your business, historical financial performance, productivity, the positioning of your products and services in the marketplace, etc. We do not focus only on cost reduction. Our approach is to consider the whole business, its relationship to the marketplace, its customers and its competitors. The result of our analysis is the turnaround plan, where we present the steps, and the estimated time and cost, to return the business to financial health.

After you have accepted the turnaround plan, we continue to assist you to implement that plan. Implementation may involve productivity improvements, pruning of unprofitable products or services, introduction of new products or services, divestiture of unprofitable business segments or other steps required to re-invent the business. Our engagement usually concludes with a restructuring of debt and often with a refinancing of the business.

Throughout our engagement, we stay in touch with creditors, help them to understand the issues and make them part of the process.

Although each situation can be different, we bring to each engagement the same sense of urgency, the same sharp questioning, analytical approach. Our concern is always the economic well being of our client.

Turnaround Consulting is essential for:

  • Businesses in financial difficulty
  • Businesses just beginning to experience difficulty in meeting their financial obligations
  • Businesses in bankruptcy

Beacon Consulting Associates has assisted many troubled businesses to return to financial health and often to move beyond, to grow internally and through acquisition and enjoy increased success and profitability. Our clients have included manufacturing companies, chemical companies, distribution businesses, high-tech companies, and many others.

Our first consultation is at no charge. If we are selected to assist you in your efforts to return your business to financial health, we begin with a planning meeting at which we determine the depth of your situation, i.e. is the business cash flow negative, how much debt is outstanding and to whom, etc. We then prepare a realistic time plan to complete our detailed analysis and report back to you with our recommendations for a turnaround plan. After you have accepted the turnaround plan, we then assist you with implementation.

We work to your budget. Frequently, we can hold the costs within a budget by having client personnel assist with analyses and other related data gathering. We charge by the hour. Our hourly rates are reasonable and we are flexible in tailoring the engagement to meet your cash limitations.

We will provide references upon request.
